Ramesh V. Raghavan has nearly 15 years experience in the investment banking and securities business in Asia Pacific advising institutions on various equity and equity linked investment strategies. Ramesh started his career in financial services with Morgan Stanley in New York in 1997 with whom he worked for nearly 12 years. He has held several senior leadership roles with Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong and Singapore. He was based for 10 years in Hong Kong and 2 years in Singapore looking after the hedge funds Sales and Institutional flow derivatives business for Asia Pacific Equities. He had been involved in identifying several start ups in the hedge fund space for Morgan Stanley to be involved as the principal prime brokers. For the past two and half years Ramesh was the Co-head of Hedge Funds and Flow Derivatives Sales (Asia Pacific Equities) for Royal Bank of Scotland until December 2011. He has had considerable involvement in capital raising activities as well for many businesses across a variety of sectors over the years.

Ramesh prior to his entry to financial services has worked in the FMCG sector with Multinational Corporations for 4 years with the likes of PepsiCo International and Britannia Industries in India. He was the project leader for Pepsi’s flagship branded export business during Pepsi’s initial years in India in marketing “Made in India” branded fruit juice products into USA and Europe. Ramesh has also managed variety of agriproducts businesses such as basmati rice, potato chips and animal feeds for export markets out of India. Ramesh has also got significant experience in commodity trading.

Ramesh holds an MBA from London Business School, a Masters in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi and a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from College of Engineering, Guindy (Chennai), India.

Ramesh currently is actively mentoring few start ups in the education sector. Currently Ramesh is an advisor to a start up Money-wizards which is involved in pioneering financial literacy education programs in India for schools, colleges and working adults. In addition he has invested in his personal capacity in greenfield life-style development oriented real estate businesses in Macau as well as in a renewable energy business in India.
